Short description of Wizz Air
Wizz Air is a Hungarian low-cost airline operating on routes across Europe. In order to offer competitive ticket prices for flights from Central-Eastern Europe, it adopts a simplified model of providing services. Wizz Air issues e-tickets, uses small airports, plane decks have one class only - without seat allocation. Additional services (e.g. catering) are paid extra.

History of Wizz Air
Wizz Air was founded in 2003. Thanks to broad management's experience, under the leadership of the General Director - József Váradiego, Wizz Air quickly became a key player in the low-cost flights sector. On May 19 2004, the first Wizz Air flight from Katowice to London took place. Until 2007, Wizz Air served around 6 million passengers. The carrier has got 7 foreign bases, where the Budapest Airport – Ferihery is the primary one. In 2008, a new air base in Ukraine was opened.

Wizz Air’s fleet
Currently, Wizz Air’s fleet consists of 34 modern Airbus A320 airplanes. Each of them is equipped with about 180 comfortable leather seats and International Aero V-2500 Engine. The planes can cover the distance of up to 12 000 km. The carrier is constantly expanding its fleet. Wizz Air is planning to operate 132 airplanes by 2017.

Due to the fact that Wizz Air tries to offer its customers the most attractive flights, the carrier uses small airports. That is why departures from Romanian airports take place not only from Bucharest, but also from Bacău, Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timișoara, Târgu Mureș.

Terms and conditions of carrying luggage with Wizz Air
Wizz Air airline implemented new rules concerning the carriage of hand luggage. Passengers are allowed to take on board one piece of luggage with maximum dimensions of 40x30x20 cm for free. The luggage must fit under the seat in front of the passenger. After paying an additional fee, it is also possible to carry large hand luggage with bigger dimensions than the regular hand luggage. However, the size cannot exceed the dimensions of 55x40x20 cm. The luggage must fit in the compartment above seats. After paying an extra fee, the passenger can also carry up to 6 pieces of checked luggage (transported in the hold of the pane) with the maximum weight of 32 kg (weight of 1 piece of luggage). The luggage cannot exceed the width of 1.499 m, height of 1,194 m and length of 1,715 m. Fees for the first three pieces of checked luggage can be paid online, whereas fee for the additional three pieces must be paid at the airport. The price for carrying luggage depends on the season and plane’s route.
